In addition to his work as an optometrist, Dr. Volland is a dedicated community leader. He currently serves in his local government on the Anchorage Assembly. His involvement in the business community was recognized when he was awarded the 2021 Anchorage Young Professional of the Year by the Anchorage Chambers Young Professional Group and as one of Alaskas Top 40 Under 40 by the Alaska Journal of Commerce. As a member of the Anchorage East Rotary Club, Dr. Volland has helped coordinate the Mobile Food Pantry in partnership with the Alaska Food Bank at the Fairview Community Recreation Center.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Volland enjoys exploring the natural beauty of Alaska through activities such as packrafting, backcountry ice-skating, skiing, and walking his dog, Juniper, along the Coastal Trail.
